Even on the difficult days, remember that you are never forgotten. Students who read this letter will think of you. They think of you all the time. We all will talk about the stories of teachers that we adored for decades. We will laugh, cry and appreciate. We carry what you taught us in our minds, and also in our hearts, for the rest of our lives.
It's the one thing I tell people about myself that always seems to surprise them: that I was a teacher. I'd just graduated from the University of Southern California, and even though I knew I wanted to go into show business, I tried my hand at teaching for a while -- partly because my father wanted me to get a "real job," but mostly because I loved it.
