More and more, it is looking like Virginia will be the state that decides Election Night in Obama's favor. Sure, it could be Florida or Ohio, but my guess is that the vote-counting is going to take a while in both of them,

Young people, take it from Romilly and Gideon... get out there November 4th and make history. It's time to change America.

Most of the poll workers are elderly, and not particularly adept at using the computers. My agent took almost five minutes to find me in the system and issue me a ballot. One woman who exited the polling place after half an hour was apparently dead, even though she looked quite well.

if you spot (and record on video) something unusual at your polling place, you will have an easy way of uploading it to a place where journalists will have immediate access.

It's going to be all but impossible to continue the "we're in a dead heat" nonsense if Barack Obama decisively wins Florida and Virginia when the East Coast returns come in.

Our attraction to certain personal characteristics is integral to how we evolved as humans. How do we leap from prehistoric clan success to modern day presidential politics?

I have to admit, that's a pretty provocative title. And enumerating the poultry before they emerge from the ova is always risky... as the saying goes.

Barack Obama has made some gains since last week, to put it mildly. While he hasn't wildly increased his Strong numbers, at least the trend is in the right direction.

Today was a banner day for Obama in the national polls (especially the one that puts him up nine points, 52/43) -- but they are largely meaningless, since that is not how we elect our president.

For the better part of four months, besides working overtime in a job that supports our family, my husband has been volunteering locally, making phone calls, maintaining political blogs to get the message out, and keeping up on the latest issues of the presidential race.

There are so many questions out there surrounding our voting system.

I came to realize that I wrote these very scripts for the purpose of inspiring people to do their part and getting them back to the message.

The national trend for Obama may have turned around in his favor in just the last couple of days. So even though things look grim here, Obama is already starting to bounce back.

When John McCain makes his grand exploitation trip to Louisiana later this week, keep in mind that he voted down every chance he had to actually provide help and oversight the last time this happened.

Now they're running-mates, but last October Obama told me he supported the idea of weekend voting to increase voter participation and Biden said he wouldn't necessarily support it.

Obama has slipped below the magic 270 number for the first time since he became the Democratic presumptive nominee, and McCain has just about caught up with him.

I favor libertarian stands on civil liberties and limited government, so I eagerly read the Libertarian Party emails. Yet I base my view of reality on logic and evidence. Sadly, I'm not seeing much of either from the Barr campaign.

Yes, I admit I'm caught up in Obamamania. I have been one of the fans (as the McCain campaign likes to describe me) ever since I saw Obama speak in January at Denver University.

It's time once again to take a look at the Electoral College math from state-level polling. Nationwide polls are not completely meaningless, but they are pretty irrelevant as that's not how we elect a president.

It's been about a month since we last took a look under the microscope at the possible outcomes of the Electoral College vote this November, so it's time for an update.

U.S. Rep. Steve Israel hits the streets of D.C. and the halls of the Capitol to ask a simple question, which most members of Congress can't answer: Why do we vote on Tuesday?

Rather than a Vince Lombardi halftime pep talk about giving 110% in the second half, I'd like to review where we've been so far. This will be my final "picks" article for 2008.
