Most people who know me well know that my daily walk is a ritual for me. It is my medicine, my exercise, my period of zen: a walking form of meditation. I avoid taking my phone with me or company and this is the time that I am alone with me myself and I sort out my thoughts, feelings, ambitions, worries and emotions. Of course, it helps that I live in such a beautiful part of the world where the sunsets are breathtaking as the sun dips into the Pacific Ocean. Yes, I go for my walk every day on Palisades Park on the bluffs of Santa Monica, where I can smell the salt in the air and hear the waves crashing! One of my favorite things to do is documenting these gems and here are some of my favorites from both my nightly walks and my open air rooftop bar at Hotel Shangri-La, Suite 700. My hope is that you'll enjoy letting these photos capture your imagination as they have mine and inspire you to share your own inspiring escapes as well.
