Tomorrow night on PBS, I sit with award-winning composer and producer Hans Zimmer. He has scored music for over 100 films, including Rain Man, The Lion King, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, and won an Academy Award, two Golden Globes and four Grammys. Just this week, the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association named his score for 12 Years a Slave as Best Original Score for 2013. We talk about his remarkable career and the iconic scores in his repertoire.

In the clip below, Zimmer talks about how music has been a place of refuge for him.
