Women of Color Ignored by Fast Company's 25 Smartest Women on Twitter List, Twitter Reacts with #SmartBlackWomen Hashtag

When FastCompany, a business and innovation website, released a monumental article celebrating the 25 Smartest Women on Twitter, the reaction online was one of awe and disappointment as the force behind #BlackTwitter, an undefined collection of Twitter's most respected Black Twitter users, recognized that the list did not include a single woman of color.

A new hashtag, #SmartBlackWomen, was created to single out those women who were ignored by FastCompany's list.
