Do You Have Permission to Be on an Adventure?

Society says we must drive ourselves into the ground to get the things we want done. But this only shuts us down and makes life hard. It is only when we allow ourselves to be on an adventure, following the guidance of our hearts, that we truly open up to magic and miracles!

I'm on the road for a couple of days with my hubby, Charlie. He has some business to do and earlier this week he asked, "Want to go on an adventure with me?" At first I said, "Yes!" I love an adventure! But then as the week hurried by and it came time to leave, I began to question myself.

My ego was in full swing, telling me what I "needed to do," and "what had to be done." The day prior to leaving had been a little bit of a weird day for me. I definitely did not feel in the flow with my work and, as a result, felt I was getting behind. The idea of leaving town actually sort of scared me. However, I was certain that if I stayed in this "struggle" mode, nothing was going to be easy. That's when I knew I had to go with Charlie.

Thank goodness I listened to my heart instead of my head! Woohoo! As soon as I climbed into the car, it was as if a breath of fresh air washed over me. I felt the excitement flood throughout my body of being on an adventure and became almost giddy. I literally could feel my body's energy vibrating at a higher level. I knew immediately from this feeling that this was exactly where I was "supposed" to be. My head almost convinced me to stay at home and work "harder." Thankfully, I know that if my heart is tugging at me to veer off of the path that I am on, it's because life will be a whole lot easier and definitely more fun in this new direction!

As Charlie and I made our way down the road, I gradually let go of all of the "shoulds" in my mind and began to creatively engage with him. (For those of you with a dirty mind, this is not what I mean... but I did think about it!)

What I mean by "creatively engaging" is that we started sharing our thoughts and feelings and brainstorming with one another. All of the sudden guidance that I had been asking for all week was answered. Woohoo! This answer gave me clarity with some of my upcoming work. Instead of spinning my wheels and trying to "figure it out," by allowing myself to play and follow my heart, I got my answer in a fun way and without any effort!

This is how living from your heart works: as you allow yourself to follow the guidance of your heart, life becomes way more joyful and a whole lot easier!

So what does your heart want you to do? What kind of adventure is being called forth within you? What are you ready to say "Yes!" to?

I invite you to let go of the pictures in your mind of how you think your life is supposed to be. Give yourself permission to be on an adventure!

If you're ready to stop all the "shoulds" and allow yourself to play, I invite you share your story with us on my website: http://terribritt.com/adventure/ or my Facebook page. What are you ready to say YES to?
