Yoga is about drawing your focus inward, but that doesn't mean a stunning landscape can't enhance your practice.

Ultimately, it's you, the yogi, who will decide what constitutes the most beautiful place for setting up your practice. It's wherever you feel most at peace, and eventually learning to channel that inner calm no matter where in the world you might find yourself.

The World's Most Beautiful Places to Do Yoga

"I love nature, and where there is nature, there is always a great spot to do yoga," says Martine Hamers, a jet-setting yoga instructor and creator of Yogtine, a blog that chronicles her discoveries in the world of yoga.

"I love to travel and discover new places, new nature -- this can be both close to home or far away -- where I can practice yoga, where I can teach people yoga, or where I can find the stillness in my mind via meditation," she explained.

She spent the past few years living in Brazil, where she says her favorite places to practice include Praia da Rosa in Florianopolis, one of the country's most beautiful beaches that's surrounded by big green trees, steep rocks and a laid-back beach town, and Jerricoacoara, Brazil, which she describes as a coastal town with five sand roads that all lead to the main beach.

"On the left side of the beach there is a big dune where you can watch the sunset, while people practice capoeira on the beach below and the fisherman coming in from the sea," Hamers said.

Despite her love for traveling and the many incredible sites she has seen, Hamers acknowledges that you don't have to travel far to have an amazing experience with yoga in nature.

However, for the yogis who are on the hunt for the perfect spot to set up their practice, these are a few of the world's most scenic landscapes where Hammers has found stillness and serenity.
