Sometimes a Snapple flavor fails, and you just can't believe it. Why, for instance, would Snapple choose to discontinue such an easy-to-like favorite as Strawberry-flavored tea? Or Compassionberry Tea, a drink intended to promote Autism awareness, which was both delicious and brought attention to a deserving cause -- of all the Snapple flavors ever invented, certainly that one deserved to stay readily available.

At other times, however, you're genuinely amazed that a flavor concept made it past a board meeting and into production. With over 60 flavors dropped from their seemingly ever-rotating roster, Snapple has had some eyebrow-raising missteps.

Cactus Tea
Snapple, you’re trying too hard. While cactus tacos may be a yes, cactus-flavored tea is a no. Weird, thorny stalks of aloe do not need to be juiced and infused into our tea, thanks. Click Here to see More of the Wackiest Failed Snapple FlavorsPhoto Credit: Thinkstock
Bali Blast
We have literally no idea what this is supposed to mean. What is Bali-flavored? Volcanic rock? Sunlight? Crystal-clear water? Is this name supposed to be oddly associative, in the same category as “blue raspberry?” What is going on here?Photo Credit: torontojungle.com
Lime Green Tea
Lime tea? Yup. Green tea? Definitely. Lime… green tea? No way. The lime is way too strong for the delicate flavor of green tea, which pairs much better with equally delicate scents like jasmine. Photo Credit: shelflifetastetest.com Click Here to see More of the Wackiest Failed Snapple Flavors
Samoan Splash
While Samoa has a rich and delicious traditional cuisine, the highest-profile customary dishes include whole roasted pig and coconut rice. Tasty? Oh, yes. But not exactly a combination you want to put in a blender and suck through a straw.Photo Credit: Thinkstock
Peach Melba Soda
Fun Snapple Fact: the last time anyone in the world other than Snapple made a peach melba was 1952. This fact may not be verifiable — ok, while it’s not even remotely true — the idea of taking a concept as easily marketable as “peach-flavored soda” and turning it into something as alien and antiquated-feeling as “Peach Melba Soda” seems like the weirdest marketing choice imaginable. To start with a whole category of weird Snapple choices, do you remember that Snapple once made sodas?

For a company that bills itself as all natural with a brand slogan that reads "Made from the best stuff on Earth," and has enjoyed an exclusive deal with New York City school system as a healthier alternative, a line of sugary sodas might not be the best way to promote the particular associations and image the company seemed to be shooting for. But the sodas were released in the early '80s and enjoyed some popularity until the whole line was discontinued in the mid '90s.

We compiled a full list of discontinued Snapple beverages and picked the top 10 absolute strangest ideas that ever made it from a concept and into a bottle, then ranked them from "Kind of crazy, but it just might work!" to "Our brains melted."
