As stores stock their shelves with boxes of chocolates, stuffed animals, and balloons, it's hard to find something outside the figurative heart-shaped box to get our loved ones in the Valentine's Day spirit. With so many restaurants serving the same prix fixe menus at outrageous prices, wouldn't it be more fun and adventurous to celebrate the holiday by cooking together at home? On Valentine's Day, a few of the known aphrodisiac foods come to mind -- oysters, chocolate, and strawberries. These seductive foods provide the body with lots of energy and nutrients needed for a "good time." But if chocolate-covered strawberries and oysters seem cliché, what's a lusting couple to do? To spruce up the evening, try serving some of the lesser-known aphrodisiacs to get you both in the mood.
