Meet the Photographer Behind Nicole Richie's Wedding Pictures

Friday on newsstands, People magazine will show the inside details of Nicole Richie's nuptials to Joel Madden -- including her dad Lionel Richie, her bridesmaids, and even an elephant! If you have ever planned or been a part of a major wedding in Los Angeles, chances are you have heard the name Yvette Roman. Yvette started out as a rock photographer shooting Joni Mitchell, Roy Orbison, Tool, Timothy Leary and David Byrne, and later made her way into the elite group of less than ten go-to professionals hired to handle just about every wedding of this stature -- ranging from wealthy L.A. families to celebrities to extreme destination weddings. The narrow niche of high-profile wedding fixers includes a handful of wedding planners, caterers, florist and photographers who repeatedly recommend and hire each other for jobs.

Leading the pack of these nuptial insiders is wedding planner Mindy Weiss, who regularly hires Yvette to shoot. Mindy just finished Nicole Richie's wedding after coming off the long haul of Katy Perry's ceremony in India. She also recently put together Hilary Duff's big day. Other go-to wedding planners to the stars include: Jo Garten (of Love, Luck, And Angels), Kristin Banta and Lisa Vorce (of Oh How Charming). Everyone's favorite for catering is exclusively The Kitchen For Exploring Food. Florists range from R. Jack Baltazar (Yvette's personal favorite) to Mark's Garden (Mindy's favorite) and Mindy Rice who also does incredible work. For linens and rentals, stars head for Wildflower Linens and Classic Party Rentals who are good at keeping things hush-hush amongst their staff. For music it is always  West Coast Music if you want a band and Samantha Ronson if you want a DJ.

As a rule you will always see photo credits to wedding photographers Yvette RomanElizabeth Messina and Jose Villa, who are also all friends and pass along jobs when one is booked for a weekend. For videographers and filmmakers - you want to know Bliss Video Productions.
