David Gregory Finally Goes After a Democrat

Posted: 11/13/11 01:11 PM ET

Shortly after the death of Tim Russert, the coronation of David Gregory as his replacement on Meet the Press began. This was a key slot for the DNC and Liberals to fill quickly, because there was their President to elect, Obama.

Just as Russert had been before him, Gregory was viciously and voraciously hostile toward Bush, Conservatives and the GOP Presidential candidates in particular but just to be fair, with anyone who had the temerity to disagree with the Liberal cabal.

Joe Lieberman and Juan Williams were just two men who strongly disagreed with Conservatives but have been marched off the gangplank at swordpoint by the American Left for not being nasty enough.

And the Liberal Media, a Liberal-riven Congress, NBC and the DNC all needed very badly to keep the pressure on and brutal rhetoric open full-throttle on Bush and Conservatives in order to get Obama elected.

So it was that David Gregory took over Russert's seat (which many thought him unqualified to occupy, including this writer) at a crucial time for the Democratic Party.

But Gregory proved all his detractors wrong -- he's kept Obama's public relations image burnished with his glowing but vacant reports to prop up Obama and then his continued ignorance of virtually any issue which could hurt this President.

Until this past Sunday on Meet the Press, that is.

You see, Gregory appears to have had an epiphany of sorts. Otherwise, what could account for his aggressive interview of perpetual Obama apologist and DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz?

As Gregory hurled question after tough question at this new breed of Dem mouthpiece, Schulz replied like a deer caught in headlights with talking point after tired, old talking point. As Gregory with sudden found bravery, pressed the DNC spokesperson hard to get her to admit blaming Bush was futile and that Obama needed to take some responsibility, any responsibility for America's current condition, Ms. Schultz wasn't having any of it. And she looked a fool for it.

Who is this woman, Schultz kidding? She needs to be replaced immediately because she is doing irreparable damage to the DNC's reputation. And, I say this as someone who loathes what the DNC stands for; can't they find a better leader?

I never thought I'd be saying this: Kudos to David Gregory. Congrats to him for having the core and strength of character to ask tough questions of the party leader whose party has made everything they've touched over the last three years, worse. If more media talking heads would show a little courage in standing up to their own party, America would be much better off.

Well you are wrong about Debbie, sir, she is an asset to the Democratic Party. She is a bold outspoken spokesman. I respect her for her stands and how she debunks the lies being told. David Gregory was wrong to try to harass her.

Republicans are brilliant at victimology. They are always victims, pleading and whining for special privileges and casting themselves as some oppressed minority. David Gregory has been a reliable Big Media shill for years, savaging whistle blowers and anyone who dared question the legality and wisdom of Bush's insane Iraq War. Then, when Bush's presidency was revealed to be a disaster ( after all, he did destroy the US economy and launchd two decade long wars of choice to the tune of around $3 trillion or so), Gregory followed the pack, like most of our useless media. But this was hardly a case of his doing the liberals' bidding, since Bush was an intergalactic disaster, and to deny it would have made Gregory look like a fool. You guys have run this country, occupied the White House for 22 of the last 30 yers, prior to Obama. You ran Congress for most of Clinton's term. You boast endlessly about Reagan's Revolution, which changed everything -- deregulated, lowered taxes on the rich, enacted trickle down, etc. and Gingrich';s Contract with America and all the wonders that did. You take credit for the major policies that have defined the last 30 years, and yet look at you whine like babies when confronted with the disaster those policies have caused. How can you be both Masters of the Universe and such pitiful whingeing victims of those mean libruls all at the same time? You can't: you are simply liars.

I don't care what you think of Republicans; I don't like them much either. I'm a Conservative. There's a difference you know.

As you start out using what for you must be big words like "victimology" and deteriorate in your post to calling us Conservatives "simply liars," I'm curious: how could you ever win a debate with that kind of lame rhetoric, much less have a decent conversation at a party with other Americans?

Either you have been watching Mr. Gregory's "Meet The Press" on another planet or you're using hallucinogenic drugs. If you think Davey is a Liberal shill you are so right-wing you're coming back around again.

Now if he'd do that to a republican, who are on the show by a factor of 10 to 1 I might start watching this show again. Gregory is nothing but a tool for the Right and to read this article makes it seem that Gregory is soft on Dems, when in fact he's soft on the Cons. These Sunday morning shows have turned into nothing more that Republican infomercials.
I'm sure my fellow posters will agree with my assessment of Gregory. The only time he asks inqusitive questions is when a Democrat is on, where as he let's the Cons off the hook and let's them spew their talking points ad nauseum.

Dear Jimme, Your post has my head spinning... David Gregory of NBC is WAYYYYYYYYY left. No I don't agree with your post, you are 180 degrees wrong. NBC is WAYYYYY left. Obama is his idol and Gregory was recently called out by the press for making a clearly biased remark about Republicans on TV. Maybe this isn't the same person, but I am pretty sure it is. As for spewing talking points, I can see from your post that you have a problem with Republicans. I am fairly conservative and I too can cite the Republican talking points. Can you recite the left's talking points? (I can too!) It's called political discourse... I love it!

Dear littleolwinemakerme, This is from the HP six days ago "David Gregory

"Meet The Press" host David Gregory apologized on Wednesday for what he called a "very poor choice of words" about the GOP during a "Today" appearance.

Gregory was on the morning show to talk about the mounting sexual harassment allegations against Herman Cain. Host Ann Curry asked him if the GOP wishes Cain would "just go away."

"Well, there is no grand wizard in the party right now who can really force the issue," Gregory replied. The term "grand wizard" was what got him into trouble, since that is also what the leaders of the Ku Klux Klan were once called.

After conservatives pounced, Gregory took to Twitter to recant his phrasing: " And a bit more of the drama... his comments were on live TV, his apology was a post on twitter! So what right leaning comments has he made? Are we talking about the same guy? And thank you for your reply to my post.

You must be watching the wrong program. "Meet the Press" is how Obama got elected. Get your facts straight about the political orientations of different TV programs and follow that with reading and understanding different print publications.

Then, and only then, will you be qualified to post here with the other big boys.
