Back in September of last year, there were faint whispers that Taco Bell was testing tacos with -- wait for it -- a Nacho Cheese Doritos shell. (If you're slow to grasp the concept, that's essentially a taco shell that has a bright orange hue because it's made from cheesy Doritos tortilla chips.) Now, word is spreading around the country about what is all at once quite possibly the most brilliant and trashy fast food idea of all time, and people are desperate to know: Where can they get one?

What makes this novelty taco even more awesome is the fact that it seems to be in answer to an online movement (going all the way back to 2009 and possibly even before) of people demanding that the Frito-Lay snack company develop a taco shell made from Doritos. Behold: The "Taco Shells Made From Doritos Movement." They even have their own Facebook page.

It makes perfect sense, if you think about it. The best way to make cheesy nachos is with Doritos nacho cheese tortilla chips, of course. So far, the Doritos tacos have been spotted at Taco Bell locations in a few states including California, Ohio, and North Carolina. Most of the people who have tried 'em seem to be giving them a big (albeit orange) thumbs up -- as evidenced by the video below. And, some locations are even selling Cool Ranch Doritos taco shells, which only begs the question given how many varieties of Doritos there are in the word: Is a Pizza Supreme taco shell next?

Have you tried the new Doritos taco shell at Taco Bell yet? Where did you find it?
