I decided to watch Bushspeak on ABC, but there was a commercial for a movie. I thought I had the wrong channel. The movie was Empire, so it was appropriate after all. The all-military audience didn’t applaud Bush’s entrance, nor did they applaud his applause lines, except for one (the applause was initiated by a member of the President's advance team) where Bush said that U.S. troops wouldn’t leave Iraq until we won. I hope I didn’t miss anything while I ran to get my calendar. There was something about Bush that reminded me of another president, a man I’d seen on the news the previous evening. It was the former president of his church, the BTK terrorist, justifying his project. Of course, to my knowledge, Bush hasn’t personally bound, tortured and killed anybody. Rather, his destiny was determined by that for which he was trained in college. Bush is our Cheerleader-in-Chief.
