Hello everyone! For my second post, let's talk about the word progress --forward or onward movement toward a destination. Now the word past-- gone by in time and no longer existing. With that being said, let's begin...

So many people are content just going through a routine, giving up on their dreams and never putting themselves out there. Then there are the ones that say, "I could have been this, I could have been that, I use to be fit, and I used to do that!" When will enough be enough? When will people stop living in the past about some heyday they had? Just like a diet, living a happy and fulfilled life takes consistency and progression. The world is meant to move forward. Let's use water as an example. Take a river: the water that creates that river is always moving forward toward it's next destination. Now if you take a cup of water from the river and place the cup of water on the ground, and just let it sit there. The water will eventually become full of bacteria and end up being useless!

The same goes for us as humans. If you are always trying to better yourself as a person, you will feel great and progress through life with a smile on your face. Now if you just sit around feeling sorry for yourself, saying "I'm going to do this, do that, or imagine being able to do that," you will become that useless water no one wants. Somewhere along the line, the human race became lazy...not everyone, but a whole lot of us. You know that saying "if you put your mind to it, you can do anything?" Well, that's not said enough in my opinion! That saying should be said in every classroom everyday, so that kids will always believe in themselves. Here's another saying: "the sky's the limit." Great saying, but why even put the word "sky" in there? I just say that there are no limits!

I came across this story by David Moye about an Ethiopian carpenter named Sintayehu Tishale who lost use of both his arms, being born with debilitating polio. He taught himself how to become one of the area's finest craftsmen for more than 20 years by using just his feet, according to Barcroft Media, a British news agency. He is also married with five kids and a great provider for his family. There are so any motivating stories just like this one that you can find. So what I'm trying to say, is when you wake up in the morning and can't seem to find motivation. Think of a story like Sintayehu's and that should get you going. Especially if you have all your working parts, there is no reason you can't go accomplish whatever you want!

The progression of life is not going to wait for you. There are a lot of hungry people out there just waiting for their shot. Take action sports for example: the progression of snowboarding, surfing, moto, skiing, skating, skydiving and more is mind blowing! Tricks that seemed impossible ten years ago are routine now. Let's all harden up and become that flowing river. Stop living in the past! Learn from the past and progress forward!

I just started a Twitter page two days ago...I know, get with the times! Come follow me: I will be posting a positive quote every morning to jump start your day, answering tweets the best I can and posting fun an exciting things I do during the day. I will also be giving heads up on charities I'm working with and running for! Be patient because its going to take me a second to get the flow of Twitter! My Twitter page is twitter.com/thelonious1st. Hope to see you there!
