Obama's Case for Sanity - Step One: Shun Fox

He's trying hard to make that case. As I write, there he is, leading by example on every Sunday morning talk show -- except the Crazy Channel. Which was an interesting choice, especially when coupled with his core message, repeated in almost identical language in every interview. Namely, that the way to get on TV is to be rude, as he put it so delicately. He actually meant screaming hate-filled lies. Of course that was what helped Fox to niche dominance from the beginning, but their decision to sponsor and promote those tea-bagging truther events in recent months was the last straw. It should be enough to seal the deal for the rest of us.

There is no such thing as "Fox News." Every citizen with a platform -- every politician, writer, professor, every talking head in the land who still has a conscience -- should shun Fox, too. Just say no. Don't fall in with the pretense that Chris Wallace presides over another universe from the one in which Glenn Beck peddles his venomous racism. Just say no. When they call, say, "I don't do Fox."

That would be a start.
