On September 11th, 2001, I was a 20-year-old film student. After being awakened by a roommate to the news that America was under attack, I began charging my Hi8 camcorder. This video is a documentation of my experience that day. Along with other Manhattan residents, I wandered the streets, huddled next to car radios, and tried to sort out what was true from what was false at a time when anything seemed possible. The final shot shows a line of trucks and utility vehicles heading to Ground Zero late that night when Lower Manhattan, such a chaotic rush before, had turned into a ghost town.
