President Laura?

stumbleupon :President Laura?   digg: President Laura?   reddit: President Laura?   del.icio.us: President Laura?

Has anyone else noticed Laura Bush getting a wee bit political of late? First there was her surprisingly vocal stance on the Myanmar crisis, then her public snubbing of Iran's President Ahmadinejad at the U.N.

Could it be that, in some strange Republican back room, they're tearing a page from the Clinton playbook and plotting a "Laura Strategy?" Looking around at the potential Republican candidates, it's easy to see why they'd do it. There's just not that much on the horizon. And I'm pretty sure her approval ratings are exponentially better than anyone else in the administration.

Sure, call me paranoid, even crazy, but then remember how people once scoffed at the thought of "President Hillary."

(While we're on the subject of Presidential succession, it's worth taking a quick moment to look at this short, beautiful film created by Andrew Sloat.)

If you accept the theory that electing Hillary
Clinton is essentially a way to put BJ Clinton
back in the White House for another term or 2,
then 25% of the looniest people among US will
tell you that strategy works just as well for
Mrs & Mrs GWB.

Just because it's a horrible, sickening idea
doesn't mean Karl Rove can't make it happen.

Presidents wives are probably not much different than other married women. Motives for being loyal vary, I suppose, but it just might be that Laura is a true believer in her husband, George. -Seems like she learned to love baseball once "We owned the Texas Rangers". She does not mention the millions of dollars the actual owners paid the Bush couple, once George had convinced Arlington, Texas to build a new stadium for the team he never "owned" and then left town.
That was years ago. That happy couple has lived (occasionally) in the White House for years now. My question is: "Who benefited"?

I remember Barbara Bush being very critical of Hillary for playing such an active role in the Clinton admin. I wonder what she's saying about Laura? Knowing that bunch of hypocrits it's probably her idea for Laura to get more involved.

You know, the dem's never learned to play down and dirty...Not bottom feeders like repub's. The repub's are so good at it, don't you think? They all sing the same vicious song, own all of media and Bam....You have the crazies spewing their hate. The Dem's should be on TV defending the poor 12 year old boy, who happened to be the beneficiary of health care he needed. The Dem's don't know how to verbalize, take a point and run with it. They pontificate too much and should limit their sentences to simple sound bites, 4 to 5 word simple declarative sentences. The mantra should be repeated over the course of days, weeks, months, just like repub's. do. Repetition is the key. Remember that all of you Dem's.

Hell Laura slept through GW's eight years, never daring to have to see anything disgusting, like the funeral for the people her husband sent to their deaths.

I don't know why anyone would vote for her.

This was predicted by another Blogger almost two and a half years ago:

That someone that Laura killed was her boyfriend/fiance. Her "record" was expunged. Burma is a Rovian red herring of the moment. If Laura "speaks out" against bad old repressive Burma (a place Americans know next to nothing about) we'll supposedly "forget" about what's going on in Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Israel and, wait 'til next summer folks, Iran.

Yes, the Stepford President. Why, Laura, you make me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. NOT. We have had enough with you and your ilk. Your hubby, his father, and grandfather were all more than enough that this country could ever stomach in a zillion years. When Poppy was booted out, I breathed a sigh of relief and thought that we would never see another Bush in office. Wrong. See what money can buy americans? W is the worst of the worst. Nasty, liar, mean, warmonger, limited intelligence. Boy, Americans, you really nailed it and twice, no less. What were you thinking? Millions dead, maimed, 3 million innocent people fleeing their homes. A human catastrophe, in seven short years. Way to go.

When Bill Clinton was President, a conservative friend of mine mentioned that he thought Hillary would run for President some day. I told him that if she did, there is no way the Dems would give her the nomination. He replied that he thought they might nominate her but that she would lose to the Repub even worse than Mondale or Dukakis. It is looking like we might both be wrong about her. But he won the argument because I did could see how the Dems would ever be willing to nominate her and he could.

So much has happened and so much has changed since Bill was President that something I could not even conceive as a possibility is now looking like it could very well happen. Who knew the Repubs would steal the next Presidential election and go on to make a very determined (and possibly successful) attempt to destroy America, thus poisoning their brand with the American public?

So who's to say what Laura might do some day?

Nah, there's no chance in hell. The Repubs are not that stupid. Are they?

Those Republican rightwingers...
HERE THEY GO AGAIN!

they intend to pit "her holiness" empty-headed Laura Bush against H. Clinton as what?
A paragon "of virtue"?
Laura just doesn't qualify.
Neither does GWBush the inane goofus whose chain is pulled by V-P Chain-Knee.

Laura's no paragon of virtue to me either- reminds me of the guilty mother who stands silently by while her viscious husband destroys their children - in this case our beautiful America - trashed... Must make her feel good being married to a murderer, liar and thief who is looting our country and other places in the world thereby endlessly feathering their own nest. Ilk, they are so repulsive. ..BOTH & all their criminal cronies.

I was thinking the same thing. It's too much of a coincidence. She has been quiet for six consecutive years, never seeking the spotlight, then all of a sudden, wham! She's grabbing headlines and making political postures.

Maybe Karl Rove will be head up her campaign for the 2012 race, which will begin in DECEMBER, 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just what we need, another clueless, immoral, airhead Texan in the White House.

Jesus friggin' Christ.

Haven't we have enough vapid airheads in the White House already?

Wasn't Georgie enough - Ronnie 'Raygun' was senile, if not outright vapid.

Laura,... just go home, live with your poor choice for a husband, and keep on self-medicating.
