Polish Dentist Removes Teeth of World's Stupidest Ex-Boyfriend

Posted: 05/ 1/2012 9:37 am

WROCLAW, Poland -- For some reason, and I'm trying not to read too much into it, my wife thought she ought to share with me yesterday a HuffPost story about a Polish woman who yanked all the teeth out of her ex-boyfriend's unconscious mouth. No fooling. I was watching fishing or the UFC, I can't remember which, and the missus calls from the other side of the room, "Listen to this... " and proceeded to fill me in on the details in an episode of misanthropy so grisly even Eastern Europeans seem to disapprove.

Evidently one Marek Olszewski went to see his ex-girlfriend, Anna Mackowiak, a 34-year-old dentist in Wroclaw, to be treated for a toothache. Mackowiak allegedly showed Olszewski into her facility, locked the door behind them, heavily sedated him and, according to remarks given to the Austrian Times, "I tried to be professional and detach myself from my emotions. But when I saw him lying there I just thought, 'What a bastard' and decided to take all his teeth out," which she did, one-by-one, prior to wrapping Mackowiak's head and jaw tightly in gauze, waking him from his stupor and telling him there had been a slight complication and he'd need to see a specialist. According to reports, she then sent him home where the defanged ex-beau discovered the extent of his misfortune.

Mackowiak now faces up to three years in jail along with malpractice charges and who knows what else.

In a stupendously bitter twist of irony, Olszewski's new girlfriend, the woman for whom he allegedly left Mackowiak in the first place, has now broken up with him saying, per Olszewski, "[S]he can't be with a man without teeth."

Maybe that's it, but I think she can't be with a man without intelligence. Dude! You dumped this woman for someone else and you think it's a good idea to let her knock you out and dig around in your maw with excavating tools?!

My wife probably only shared the story with me because she's aware of my perverse interest in, well, perversity. But I can't be 100 percent certain she didn't have some secondary motivation. You see, I'm not entirely unfamiliar with spiteful harpy maniacs. I dated several of them. But honey, seriously, I'm not stupid. I know you'd dice me up in my sleep if I merely contacted an ex to ask for my crock pot back and if I'm intelligent enough to forsake a once beloved cookware item for the sake of sustained marital bliss, surely I'm sufficiently bright not to ask an ex to dope me up and go after my tender parts with drills and picks and skewers.

Mind you, that makes me a whole ton brighter than Marek Olszewski who went to see his ex just days, not weeks or months or years -- days after breaking up with her for another woman.

Neither I nor, as far as I know, anyone affiliated with this publication endorses or condones the use of dental training to mutilate a former lover, whether in retribution or just plain spite.

That said, there are two kinds of idiots in the world. The first kind has bad things happen to them because they don't think ahead. The second kind has bad things happen to them even though they do think ahead because what they think is fence-post stupid.

"Oy -- my tooth hurts. Hmm. Anna's a dentist. Yeah I dumped her last week and she's probably pissed, but she's a professional."

When it comes to stupid, Marek Olszweski might not be in a class by himself, but whatever class he's in, it doesn't take long to call the roll. Perhaps in the coming weeks, as he's sipping tepid borscht, he'll find some comfort in the fact that it could have been worse. At least his ex-girlfriend wasn't a urologist, or a brain surgeon, or (shiver) a proctologist. Fake teeth you can get, but other parts are more or less irreplaceable. Get misused by a colon grater and you can abandon all hope of ever getting back to your former carefree-pootered self. It's just one of those things, kind of like how even a tuxedo can't make Val Kilmer hot again.

As for Dr. Mackowiak, there's plenty of work for prison dentists. The pay's not much and the hours drag, but hey, it's got to be better than having your idiot ex-boyfriend flounce into your clinic to ask for a favor.

Woah! It's crazy to think that someone could pull someone else teeth out like that! That should definitely be a dentists job! I don't think anyone would like to get their teeth pulled out without a sedation dentist. Not only is it the dentists job to pull teeth out, but the sedation dentist should be the one to help make sure that the patient is going to be okay! Through my research about sedation dentists, this one has provided me with the most information: http://www.sunshinedental.ca

He was a sheer idiot to treat her that way and have the audacity to seek her services. Hasn't he heard the saying about a scorned woman?

That's like cheating on my boyfriend then asking him to fix my brakes a week after I told him the new guy was awesome. Somethings are just a common sense no-no. We can scream bad dentist all day, but she probably would have went happily on in her quaint dentist life with out ever seeing him again. It like when you provoke a wild animal then get surprised when it attacks, you just don't do that.

False. A wild animal has nothing but its instincts and has no ability to discern right from wrong. This is a grown woman who should have known better. His actions are no mitigating factor.
02:21 PM on 05/03/2012
Exactly, which is why you don't mess with wild animals. There is always that possibility that it might attack you. YOU or who ever approaches any creature would know to proceed with caution.

The Dentist is no creature, but the same should have applied. He should have used some kind of self-preservation and steered clear of her.

Would you, and be honest, have went to her, if your tooth hurt? If you cheated and left her for another woman, still view her as a professional? I personally would not even let my hair dresser style my hair if she were mad, let alone let a dentist have a go at my mouth.

Regardless of what example I pull out you will find a way to take the blame off the guy because he doesn't deserve to be toothless. You're right he doesn't deserve to be toothless.

She'll be deemed mentally unstable, she'll be unable to work, she'll have a criminal record, serve jail time, the whole shebang. All because, she couldn't hold it together for one guy. Do you think that wold have happened if he went someone where else?

Even if she gave him warning signs during the relationship, he still calmly walked into her office expecting her to see to his needs. I doubt that if you were him, you'd go to her. If you would then you both should get an award. I can't lay ALL the blame at her feet.

Hilarious! Reminds me of another funny story about a man who punched his wife’s teeth out after she left him. Super funny, right? Hell hath no fury, am I right?

...well, it might have been funnier if she stood right in front of him first and gave him a big toothy grin before he clipped her.

If a man did this to a woman it would portrayed as a terrible tragedy, and that's exactly what it would be.
08:53 PM on 05/01/2012
So not only is it alright when women do it, it only happened because he's stupid.

Yep, Tony Phillips has no sympathy for a male victim.

She could have just refused to work on his mouth in the first place. I went to a female Polish Dr. who had this same type of personality and will never go to another Polish med person for anything ever. Something's wrong with them.

Baloney. The man is the better person here. The real tragedy is that this man ruined his smile just to be in the presence of this worthless female.

As a family law attorney, I cannot tell you how many times people insist on trusting someone they are breaking up with. If you are getting a divorce, your soon to be ex is not your friend!
11:58 AM on 05/01/2012
She ruined his and her life.
11:49 AM on 05/01/2012
I don't think there's anything funny about this at all. True, he was foolish to go to her and should have stayed away from her after the breakup. However, his thinking was that she was a professional, and he apparently knew her to be a good dentist. Also, I find it hard to believe that if she could do something like that then, there wasn't problems while they were going together. Maybe she was the girl friend from hell, and he was right to dump her. In any case, what she did to him will cause him problems the rest of his life - losing all your healthy teeth at that age is a serious thing, and not, as the author suggests, an easy thing to fix. That woman committed some serious mayhem on this guy, and deserves to go to prison for a long time. And, obviously, lose her license pemanently.

I agree. While the immature part of me giggled at first, I find myself appalled. While breakups can be very difficult to get over, I have a hard time believing that this was a one time lapse in judgement on her part. One bad breakup does not mean you go over the edge of reason. And if a bad breakup did push you over the edge, you were standing very close to it from the start.

It doesn't matter if he was a jerk during the relationship and that she was hurt by the breakup. She's a professional and took an oath to uphold certain ethics. If she was so upset when he came to her, she could have easily gotten some "revenge" by refusing to do work on him. "Oh your tooth hurts? I'm sorry, I don't think it would be appropriate to work in my ex-boyfriend. Good luck with your next dentist!"

I'm glad to see there are people who feel the way I do about this story. I was beginning to think I was alone. I find this entire situation completely appalling. I hope that in addition to her sentence they make her pay for his dental work. Implants aren't cheap.
