Hundreds of thousands of opposition supporters joined what they called “the mother of all marches” to denounce the president for eroding democracy and plunging the oil-rich economy into chaos.

The display of anger followed a vast march in Caracas on Thursday that opposition leaders say has emboldened President Maduro’s foes after 17 years of socialist rule.
