Snooty died on Sunday at the age of 69.
It was shocking to see the flag greet Donald Trump in Poland. But European groups -- some of them white supremacist -- have waved it for years.
The group was guarded by scores of police and outnumbered by hundreds of counter-protesters who waved signs denouncing racism.
The anti-fascists never came, but pro-Confederate protesters at the Civil War battlefield were still angry, and heavily armed.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
He was already being investigated after photos emerged of him standing next to a Confederate flag.
The law comes after other states have started to take their monuments down.
