As I have gradually increased my community involvement over the past year, the story of Bandi Chhor Divas is a reminder to look beyond oneself, and to use the privilege that has been conferred by the Creator to aid those who are less fortunate.

Tomorrow night, I will be lighting the candles outside my room. I light them as a celebration of the victory of Jesus, the light of the world, over the evil in the world.

Diwali is not just about good food and nice clothes; it is about celebrating the victory of good over evil in each and every capacity whether small or large.
