Gawker

"There is a strong argument for a company name that is not the same as Gawker.com.”
Deleting a controversial post outing a Condé Nast executive has only fueled the drama.
But the site's decision to remove the post raises questions for new media companies.
"That this post was deleted at all is an absolute surrender of Gawker’s claim to 'radical transparency,'" Max Read said.
"We all have secrets, and they are not all equally worthy of exposure."
Gawker manufactured a story that accused someone of rape -- not to mention other intimate partner abuse -- apparently for clicks and giggles, then delivered it over four posts spaced more than a month apart. The author has since admitted that this was all baseless.
