So, what exactly do Egyptians say for Easter greetings? Christians tell each other "`Ied Qiyama Magid," "Happy Feast of the Resurrection." But all Egyptians can wish each other: "Kulle sanna wa enta tayyeb." May you be well every year!
WHAT'S HAPPENING
This may be the defining quote in today's community service movement. But if Dr. King were alive today, what would he think of our culture of service? How would he respond to the great disconnect that often exists between faith and service?
Counter-intuitive as it may be for those of a particularly rigid faith, I marvel at the way ancient, pagan traditions can bring unexpected and quietly powerful meaning into the celebration of many Christian rituals.
Tomorrow night, I will be lighting the candles outside my room. I light them as a celebration of the victory of Jesus, the light of the world, over the evil in the world.
