The president said the armed teen Trump supporter in Kenosha, Wisconsin, "probably would have been killed" at protest over police shooting of Jacob Blake.
There have been nearly 11,000 demonstrations in the U.S. this summer -- as well as a rising tide of state repression and vigilante violence.
Trump doesn't yet have anything to say about the 17-year-old charged in the killing of Wisconsin protesters, Kayleigh McEnany said.
“I am concerned your presence will only hinder our healing," Gov. Tony Evers wrote in a letter.
The president needs another 48 hours to figure out what to say about killings that happened four days earlier. But Trump Jr. retweets a message supporting Kyle Rittenhouse.
“It’s been a police free for all. They do whatever they want,” said one Kenosha activist after days of protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
They were "driving around in pickup trucks, targeting protesters," said state Rep. David Bowen.
It was an "operational mistake," the CEO said after two protesters were fatally shot.
Tension ensued as the CNN anchor dismantled the former Wisconsin governor's claims about the violent protests against racial inequality in Kenosha.
New data shows that far-right vigilantes, often with support from cops, have threatened protesters nearly 500 times since police killed George Floyd.
