The streaming service published what it said are its long-standing rules for podcasters, following backlash over the chart-topping podcast.
The couple has a multiyear partnership with the streaming company, which has been widely criticized for hosting Joe Rogan's controversial podcast.
“Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young," the singer said.
Critics offered rockin' rewrites after the GOP senator applauded Spotify for removing the "Heart of Gold" singer's music at his request.
“We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon,” a Spotify spokesman said.
The rock icon tells Spotify to remove his music: “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both."
Their open letter urged Spotify to establish a misinformation policy to moderate the kind of baseless claims made on its “Joe Rogan Experience" podcast.
"I don't need Spotify Wrapped to tell me my top songs are all bangers from Daniel Tiger."
