A tweet by U.S. Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana had some Twitter users fighting mad.
Some on the right had no problem with fully forgiven federal loans when it came to their own businesses during the pandemic.
Before the student loan crisis exploded, Congress repeatedly passed laws making it harder to get rid of student debt.
The multimillionaire isn’t happy that his low-paid staffers will have some of their student loans forgiven under President Joe Biden’s new debt relief plan.
"We have a lot of young people that work on my TV show, they're not making a $125,000," the Fox News host said.
The Fox News host said "I didn’t have to take out loans" and called debt relief for people who did "disgusting."
The president also announced a continuation of the freeze on student loan payments until January.
Students who used federal loans to attend ITT Technical Institute as far back as 2005 will automatically get that debt canceled.
"Pharrell forever changed their lives," said an NAACP official, who is now hoping President Biden will take action on student debt.
The Biden administration says it will forgive all remaining federal student debt for former students of the for-profit Corinthian Colleges chain.
