Coming up on our final post about conference travel tips, Travelle wants to talk about something all women encounter problems with: eating healthy at a conference. Between the stress and the hectic conference schedule, it is no surprise that many have found themselves staring into the lonely and limited options on the muffin tray during coffee breaks. To combat this all too common fate, Travelle brings you a few tips on how to eat healthy at a conference.

Pack For Success

It's always a good idea to pack your own healthy snacks. This way, you get exactly what you want but also stay on target with a healthy diet! An apple makes for an ideal sweet snack as it won't squish during travel and its high fiber content will stave off hunger pangs. Nuts, dried fruit, chia bars, or other similar, healthy munchies make great conference snack companions.

Drop the Soda

Are you prone to sip on soda? Avoid the insane amount of sugar by carrying around a water bottle. And while you might not be able to take a full bottle into the airport, you can certainly bring an empty one, so no excuses ladies. It's also worth considering that half the time we think we're hungry, we are actually thirsty! Carrying around a water bottle is a smart and practical way to keep slim and healthy during conference travel.

Plan Ahead

Make a list of no fuss healthy conference snacks you might bring to the event. Make sure you book a room with a mini bar so that you can expand the possibilities for your meal plans. Dried foods are the easiest, but with that fridge, mixed greens, carrots and hummus can stay fresh while you mingle. You'll also want to divvy out snack servings beforehand in travel containers and stock up on.

Begin With Breakfast

Our moms were right when they said "breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Starting your day healthy not only keeps you fuller, but sets the tone for healthy conference eating! Whether eating in or dining out, choose nutritious foods that will stave off hunger. Try oatmeal with fruit and nuts for a deliciously healthy meal that will keep energy levels high and your belly happy.

Bar Basics

At the end of a stressful day, there is possibly no greater temptation than a frozen margarita. So cold and yummy and alas, so full of sugar. If you are dead set on that drink, try a gin and tonic or a club soda and vodka. You'll be surprised how these alternatives hit the spot just as much as those sugary cocktails would.

The Real Reward

Sometimes, it's those actions that are not directly related to work that can tell us a lot about a person's overall character. Remind yourself that when others see you as someone who takes care of themselves, they not only assume you're a fit and sexy lady, but they'll infer things about your disposition. A lady who is concerned enough to bring healthy snacks and be generally mindful of her health is a considerate, disciplined, and intelligent individual. Those higher ups you might be trying to impress will likely assume that these qualities are present not just in relation to your health and fitness, but in your work ethic as well!
