For traveling foodies, sampling hot restaurants and regional cuisines can be just as essential to a fulfilling trip as stepping foot in a museum or visiting a landmark. To try Michelin-starred chefs and popular menus at a fraction of the usual cost, why not book a trip over a destination's restaurant week? We've found hotel deals coinciding with events nationwide for as much as half off.

Baltimore (Jan. 10-26): For two weeks this winter, Charm City's top restaurants offer prix-fixe meals starting at $10.14.

Portland (March): For an entire month, sample the cuisine of the city that started the food truck craze and is ahead of the curve on organic menus. Three-course meals are $29 per person.

  • Where to stay: Microbreweries and hip restaurants surround the Jupiter Hotel in the trendy Central Eastside. For $99 per night in March (30% off), receive complimentary coffee from a local cafe, Wi-Fi and bike rentals. New York City (Feb. 17 - March 7): This year's event has been shortened by a week when the city hosts the Super Bowl. Make up for lost time with prix-fixe, three-course menus, $25 for lunch and $28 for dinner, at 300 restaurants. This will be the first year all five boroughs participate.

  • Where to stay: Check out the hippest borough when checking into King & Grove Williamsburg for as little as $185 per night including $100 dining credit, 35% off competing properties. The 4-star hotel is one subway stop from Manhattan.


San Francisco (Jan. 15-31):
Started in 2001, Dine About Town has expanded to include over 100 restaurants offering 10%-25% discount off regular menu items as well as prix-fixe meals starting at $18.95.

  • Where to stay: The 4-star Le Meridien San Francisco dropped rates to $139 per night (50% off). The upscale hotel is near the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown & Union Square. Discounted flights on Virgin America to San Francisco start at $69 each way.

Los Angeles (Jan. 20-31): dineLA showcases LA's award-winning chefs like Wolfgang Puck and Ricardo Zarate, named Food & Wine's Best New Chef in America, dishing out prix-fixe lunches and dinners for 12 days.

Philadelphia (Jan. 19-24; 26-31): City Center District Restaurant Week features $35 dinners and $20 lunches at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Meritage, Brauhaus Schmitz and more.

  • Where to stay: Book a culinary escape beginning at $119 per night (regularly $224) at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District. Travelers can get an up-close look at the Liberty Bell before feasting at nearby Market Street bistros and steakhouses.

Denver (Feb. 22-28): The 10th annual event has been split this year, giving diners just seven days to sample fare from popular restaurants for $30 per person.

  • Where to stay: Rates at the Aloft Denver International Airport are halved for Restaurant Week. Parking, Internet and airport transportation are included in the $107-152 nightly rate (save 45%) at the hip hotel boasting an indoor pool and live music.

Chicago (Jan. 24 - Feb. 6): Take a two-week culinary tour of the Windy City when prix-fixe meals are $22-$44 per person at the best restaurants downtown and surrounding neighorbhoods.

  • Where to Stay: The 4-star Hotel Lincoln is available for $89 per night (35% off) during the promotion. The boutique hotel is in posh Lincoln Park and attached to Perennial Vibrant, a Michelin-starred chef's farm-to-table restaurant participating in Restaurant Week. Discounted flights on Virgin America to Chicago start at $159 each way.

Seattle (April): More than 160 restaurants will serve up three-course lunches for $15 and dinners for $28 over 10 days. Dates and a full list of restaurants will be announced in early 2014.

  • Where to stay: The Seattle Marriott Waterfront is near Pike Place Market and offers views of Mount Rainier and Elliott Bay. In April, stays at the downtown property are $189 per night on weekends and $219 per night midweek (30% off).

Atlanta - Buckhead (March 17-25): Brunch, lunch and dinner at the trendy neighborhood's best restaurants starts at $15 per person for a prix-fixe menu.

  • Where to stay: Book a weekend at the AAA 4-Diamond JW Marriott Buckhead for $145 per night during Restaurant Week (regularly $269). The luxury hotel is connected to the upscale Lenox Square Mall and across the street from a MARTA station in the dining heart of Atlanta's nightlife scene.
