Posted: 02/13/2013 7:00 am

Here at Triposo, our algorithms crawl a huge amount of social data every single day, which we use to build smart travel apps. We can slice that data in all kinds of interesting ways. Recently, we decided to find out which restaurants are most frequently mentioned as being "romantic" on social media.

We compiled that data for Valentine's Day, revealing the top 10 most romantic restaurants according to social media. Check out our slideshow to see what made the cut.

  • One if By Land, Two if By Sea: New York City, NY

Often billed as “The Most Romantic Restaurant in New York,” One if By Land is a staple of NYC fine dining. Located in the heart of the West Village, One if By Land is nestled into an old carriage house and features dark, moody walls, antique furniture and plenty of ambiance. • Better than Sex: Key West, FL

Though the name isn’t particularly romantic, the desserts at Better than Sex are well worth the trip. With just 15 seats in its dining room, BTS is a cozy little enclave in lively Key West. Their “romance” menu is served from 10 p.m. to midnight and features such R-rated confections as “Fork You Fondue” and “Kinky Key Lime.” If your honey loves sweets, better put this one on your list. photo credit: fixlr via photopin cc

  • Clos Maggiore: London, UK

Clos Maggiore was officially voted the most romantic restaurant in London, so it’s no surprise to find people clamoring over the food and ambiance across the social media sphere. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, Clos Maggiore serves elegant, updated French cuisine in a candlelit dining room complete with a roaring fire. Hard to go wrong, we say. photo credit: mseasons via photopin cc

  • The Olde Pink House: Savannah, GA

We’re not sure where they got the name for this restaurant... but it certainly is romantic, not least of all because it’s tucked away in one of the most beautiful cities in the American South. Savannah itself oozes old-fashioned charm, and Pink House fits right in here. The downstairs tavern area is dark and cozy, lit only by candles, with stone walls and a crackling fire. If that’s not romantic, we don’t know what is. photo credit: Ron Cogswell via photopin cc

  • La Lucciola: Seminyak, Bali

We’d bet it’s pretty hard to find a restaurant that’s not romantic in Bali, but La Lucciola still stands out as one of the most picturesque. A gorgeous waterfront oasis, La Lucciola serves Italian-inflected fare like orecchiette with pancetta and gorgonzola to patrons in its open-air dining area with views of the ocean. It’s the perfect place to tuck up with your sweetheart and catch the sort of sunset that only happens in Bali. photo credit: joeywan via photopin cc

  • Mon Ami Gabi: Las Vegas, NV

A traditional French bistro with five outposts across the U.S., Mon Ami Gabi’s most romantic location has to be glitzy Las Vegas. The restaurant is particularly well-known for their steak frites (steak and fries), but you really can’t go wrong. Choose from a top-quality, hand-picked wine selection that waiters roll around the restaurant on a fancy wine cart. If you’re looking for a break from the gaudiness of Vegas, slip into Mon Ami Gabi for a quiet dinner with your Valentine. photo credit: erlin1 via photopin cc

  • Bridges: Ubud, Bali

Bali sneaks onto our list of romantic restaurants again with the Bridges restaurant in Ubud. The setting is stunning, with a view of a deep gorge and rushing river below. With top-notch service, a moody, romantic ambiance and food to rival any Parisian bistro, Bridges is worth a visit if you ever find yourself (sigh) in Bali. photo credit: Matthew Kenwrick via photopin cc

  • Collage: St. Augustine, FL

St. Augustine’s lovely, worldly Collage is a treasure in a town chock-full of touristy seafood shacks. An eclectic menu and superb service only add to the romantic atmosphere of this deservedly-adored restaurant. Call ahead for a reservation, since Collage is small (just two rooms) and is quickly attaining a reputation as the best restaurant in St. Augustine. photo credit: adonis hunter / ahptical via photopin cc

  • Marandi: Oranjestad, Aruba

Aruba, Jamaica, oooh I wanna take you... to Marandi. One of the Carribbean’s finest restaurants, Marandi is situated in Oranjestad, Aruba. Right on the water, Marandi provides a perfect view of those lazy tropical sunsets. You can actually lean over the railing and watch fish swimming below you as you dine. Though the tucked-away restaurant can be a bit tricky to find, you’ll be well-rewarded for the effort with the freshest fish around and a picturesque setting for you and your sweetheart. photo credit: discopalace via photopin cc

  • Zazen: Ko Samui, Thailand

Zazen is a resort and spa located on the island of Ko Samui in Thailand. Their restaurant is consistently described by visitors as “romantic,” and that’s no surprise given the entire resort’s ambiance of relaxation and indulgence. If you book a stay at Zazen (or even if you’re just in the neighborhood), be sure to enjoy a meal or two at their world-class restaurant.
