Israel Arrests 6 In Alleged Al Qaida Plot Targeting Bush

And European Jews are not a Semetic (read Arab) people. Yet there is the attempt to trace a gene to a single Semetic woman who migrated to Russia and started the Jewish "race" in Europe. There is a whole phony science around this idea. Again the politics of racial "reinheit."

Weird. posted 07/18/2008 at 18:44:13
Bedouins will consider themselves Bedouins. They are a tribal people. Like everyone else a few hundred years ago.

Nation-states in the Arab Peninsula are trying to "civilize" the Bedouins and bring them into the fold of the nation states where they reside. I.e. Egypt now has Army constriction for the Bedouins.....but no one trusts them because are not caught up in the ideas of loyalties to abtract nation-states, which really exist in the current modern mind....but may not survive too much longer.

Location of birth defines ethnicity? Yes, perhaps as there is not pure ethnicity (other that in the minds and promotors of Ethnic based States, and ideas like Aryrian Rasen Reinheit.).

If you have ever spent time on the Arabian Peninsula, you would see it is a wonderful mix of all kinds of people. But to appeal to our sense of order (ordnung!), we can call them all Semitic or Arab or whatever. posted 07/18/2008 at 18:32:50
"Bedouin Arabs ?" I do not know if the Bedouin's would call themselves Arabs. They are a tribal people and live all over the Middle East.

Bedouins operate for all sides in the part of the world. They are stateless with no master.

The Bedouins in the Siani, for example, were and are criticaly instrumental to the Israelis for the information they continue to sell to Israel.

If al Quada got information from them, it means that they paid the Bedouis for it. Juts like Israel does and everyone else in the ME. It is that simple.

It has always worked this way since T.E. Lawrence was spying for Great Britain and paying the Bedouins for passage and information, etc. in the attempt to keep the Germans from building a rail and getting to the then-known oil reserves in what is now Irak.

Nothing has really changed. posted 07/18/2008 at 10:10:28

Provincial Progressives: The New Yorker Magazine and Why Obama May Lose

"It is either the work of well intended fools or racists." Both. Fools attempting satire that may work with those in the bubble of the editorial offices of the New Yorker; and at the same time the work of those who, at some level, have a desire to destroy.

Satire is terrific and works in the hands of only a few, and for it to work, everyone must understand it. The editors of the New Yorker knew exactly what they were doing. Do not expect them to be honest about it, but instead to tell us (like anyone who has made an ill-received gaff) "It was only a joke!" posted 07/16/2008 at 03:13:47

Report: Bush Privately Told Germany He Had Misgivings About Obama Speech

When Bush and his thugs made their first visit to Germany a few years back, Germans were not allowed to greet the Presidential motorcade, not allowed to look out windows as they drove through the streets of Mainz. The security was so tight and German citizens so terrorized, that even leaves had to be removed from trees to assure that nothing could be hidden in the trees.

It was pathetic and shameful at the same time. A visit from the President of the US had the climate of High Noon.

The contrast of the terror of Bush as High Noon hits Germany, and a possible welcoming and open public visit from a US Presidential candidate would be simply too much -- not to mention the historical visit of Kennedy in 1961(?) -- a visit Germans still speak of today. posted 07/13/2008 at 13:35:49

The question of who has what "rights" can and will be debated until judgment day.

The state of Israel, however, is the only state as a result of a religion-based (using religion) colonial movement created by UN fiat.

This UN created religious colonial state is here to stay. Unlike other colonial states you mention, Israel has expanded its boarders by force and in disregard for the same body of international laws that legitimized Israel in the first place. posted 07/11/2008 at 03:00:09

The realiy was much different and there is no evidence that jews of the Middle East prosecuted or were second class citizens, but instead a strong presence in the entire social dynamic after a presence of thousands of years. Of course, that changed only after th 67 war.

There is now a deep lament and sence of loss among, for example, the Lebanese Jews in Israel who wonder why they left their homes after the creation of Israel. Was it out of the use of fear to promote emigration. posted 06/18/2008 at 09:34:39
That is unlikely to ever happen, but if the illegaly occupried lands taken after 1967 were returned, I be the Palistinians would settle. The solution is not complicated.

Israel has seized and kept lands taken during time of conflict and in violation of all international treaty to which Israel is a part.

All they need to do is give those seized lands back.....but that is also unlikely to happen and that is unfortuante for Isreal and more of a threat to Isreal in the longer run than to Palistinians, as the Palistinians have nothing left to loose.

Since when were the Jewish people of the world part of a "Nation State?" Surely not one, two or even three thousand years ago? The abstract idea of a nation state is a relatively modern concept, a few hundred years at most. The Speculative level of Open Interest in open futures contracts is relatively small, and this includes the so-called hedge funds. In the scheme of things, speculators are too weak to sustain an uptrend in any commodity for anything but brief amount of time.

Fundamentals prevail in the game of price discovery and the end-users and commercial interest (those who need it) determine price. Specs are just there to take the other side of a trade and keep a market going.

In your attempt to smear, you are pushing all the buttons.

1. "Brzezinski was not asked and did not explain why Obama early embraced him as an adviser ..."

Brezinski was never an advisor to Obama. You know this, but create this impression because it is a button for the right wing and right wing in the US and Israel.

2. "Among other things, Wright preaches that the United States government unleashed the HIV virus in Africa to kill blacks...." blah blah Wright Wright Wright.

Joe, Wright is not running for president. Should we dig up stupid things Friends of Clintons say and trash Hillary with things she neither said nor thought?

Before you go into your mendacious smear we have to read your self blovation:

"My wife, former CIA agent, Valerie, and I accompanied Senator Clinton to Philadelphia....Not until months later, after the invasion, did the facts of the administration's distortion of intelligence slowly begin to trickle out, partly as a result of my own efforts..."

Well, like duh. It was clear to any thinking American BEFORE the intelligence came in. The whole run up to the illegal invasion was a classic of propaganda and mis information and fear campaigning. Most thinking people saw through it, questioned it. Just like you did.

But not your girl, Hillary.

Hagee did, who is not running for president and is not McCain's spiritual leader. McCain only wants his group of sheep to vote for him.

No rabbis have been murdered in America for being a Rabbi. African Americans have a history of not only slavery, buy terror against them. Catholic priest have been hung in America for being priest in New England and New York after incitement by the Nativist party. A Catholic orphanage in MA, with inhabitants burnt to the ground.

Violence against Catholics continued well into to the 20th Century. (A priest was executed in Alabama in the 20s) I experienced as a child the KKK burning the front of a Catholic Church in the 60s in an attempt to intimidate Catholics in the area.

When was a synagogue burnt in America for being a Synagogue? When was a Rabbi hung or executed for being a Rabbi?

Colonial Proscriptions and law forbade Catholics from owning property or holding many rights (with the exception of Maryland.)

In an attempt to raise all those old fear of Catholics, Kerry was ridiculed for his Catholicism, for whether he took Communion or not.

If you do not need to know, you do not concern yourself or make any efforts to have the information. Doing so is always serious grounds for dismissal or worse.
