Elections Can't Really be Fair, Free and Accurate if Eligible Voters Can't Vote

Those "psychotic, homeless, drug addicted Alzheimer's " folks are an urban myth. Come on, you know Robin is right. There are tons of people that don't drive. Especially in our big cities. I say if this trend wants to continue, then the DNC and other organizations like Moveon.org need to start a grass roots effort to find these people and help them sign up for their very own government issued ID. Lets get it started! Lets fight fire with fire! Yes we can! posted 05/09/2008 at 23:46:22

Unearthed: News of the Week the Mainstream Media Forgot to Report

Doesn't some obscenely rich left leaning person, or maybe even a few middle of the road investors like Bill and Melinda and their friend Warren see the harm the right wing media is doing to our country? We need money to fight this take over. I'm all for your present causes, but I'm begging you to bring some of your money back home and help this nation hear the other side that is so important yet absent. After all, this nation is what enabled you to have the influence you do. Please help us now. posted 05/10/2008 at 00:17:47

Will Obama Win Enough White Votes to Beat McCain?

I'm no Hilliary supporter. Shes my Senator and I like her as that. I took 3 days off of work before the PA primary to canvas for Obama there. I think she is tired. She sounded so and flubbed up. Give her a break, Its not as evil as you make her out out to be. posted 05/10/2008 at 01:10:39

Clinton's Open Letter To Obama On MI and FL

To do that would be changing the rules of the game. Once you start doing that, where do you stop changing the rules? This will surely become fodder for the Republicans in the fall if they do a re-vote. Everyone knew going into these primaries what the deal was. Besides, it wouldn't be the same vote because none of the other candidates would be on the ballot. So Its already not the same contest it would have been. Its wrong on too many levels. posted 05/09/2008 at 22:58:32

Working Class Elitists

I can't spell either but always remind folks that "President Kennedy was a bad speller too" That aside, I encounter the exact same reactions you do in the bolgisphere only mine are in real life. I have been looked down upon sometimes by co-workers because I use "big words" and know a lot about the world. They don't trust me. I'm almost always courteous when I defend myself by reminding them I never take swipes at their views. I accept them for what they are. And also that my interests in the well being of our work place and community are the same as theirs. What ever words are used to get us to the same place are irrelevant. That is the one thing that the Right has been able to play on. If someone sounds smarter than you or your neighbors, they must not have YOUR interests in mind.
And boy have I seen your flock at work this month. I have been wearing an Obama for President button most days. I have heard every single Right talking point and then some. Most people I encounter that call him an elitist, don't really grasp what an elitist is. Not because they aren't smart, they just aren't informed. So its difficult to explain to them Hilliary is much closer to that definition that Barack. posted 05/07/2008 at 23:25:09

Fox News: The "Ins And Outs" Of Shaving Your Pubes

Where I'm still allowed to grow hair. Does anyone else think its a bit twisted that our cultural norm is heading towards bald pubic regions for girls? I'm not a regular viewer of porn, but the last time I tuned in, I was shocked by the absence of pubic hair on the WOMEN in the videos. They resembled pre-pubescent girls. Whats up with that? I'm concerned that as the videos go, so does the cultural lust for younger and younger targets. I'm no tea toter , but this raises some flags for me. posted 05/03/2008 at 00:42:04

John Gibson Mocks Rachel Maddow's Sexuality: "Ooh, Lesbians! Yummy!"

I can ignore them, you can ignore them, but there are pleanty of folks out there that only get their news and info from them. Those are the ones I am afraid of. Not because they are bad people. They are just really badly informed people. They are my friends and neighbors and it sucks that this is the only dialog they can find on our local dial. We used to have Air America and it was nice. Within 2 weeks of the 2006 upset of the Congress and Senate they stopped broadcasting it in our area. No warning. They just switched to ESPN sports. Any attempts to email our call in our dissatisfaction were blocked. Its like Air America never existed for us. BTW, we already had 2 local stations broadcasting sports before they added the third. ClearChannel clearly won this local fight. And it sucks for our country. posted 05/02/2008 at 23:52:46

They will never get rid of Paula because of her uncertainty . I have only watched on and off for 3 seasons, but I'm always cognizant of the "intoxicated" Paula. Be it pain killers or booze, you can clearly see the difference in her personality. It kind of sucks to see this persons personal addiction played out in the most watched program. McCain's Genius 'Good Cop/Bad Cop' Game

And then also remind them that Karl Rove is working for McCain. And that he was the driving force behind Bush's elections. And another tangent you could work on would be to remind voters how Rove himself started the whisper campaign against McCain in the 2000 Republican Primary. What kind of integrity could Johan McCain have if he employs the very man that degraded him 7 years ago. posted 04/25/2008 at 23:39:35

Our "Working Class" Press

Wait, wasn't that Bill in charge back then? How is this Hilliary's legacy? This is irrelevant on either point because this is a very different economy. There is less to build on for new jobs because Bill sent them off shores with NAFTA. posted 04/20/2008 at 00:23:46

Krugman: Obama Clinging To A Stereotype

Agreed. What the hell does Paul know about working class America? Nothing. Talk about elitist. He sits in his far removed lifestyle and tries to make sense of others writings. Bullshit! I live in a NY town just above the PA border that DID experience a huge economic downturn starting with Regan but then accelerated by Clinton and NAFTA. We still have low paying jobs and high taxes. Are we bitter and distrustful of the government? You bet we are! What we cling to is what gets us through. Its different for everyone. We love where we live and don;t want to trade it for anything. So we wait and hope. I know most folks in my area realize the old jobs will never return. But we also know there is more than ample talent still here and an outstanding work ethic that would embrace new technologies. Bring them on. And please, Paul, don't ever try to speak for us again. posted 04/18/2008 at 22:09:07

The Uncharted: From Off The Bus to Meet the Press

yeah, and what a rant about the logistics of an utterly damagingly and spinable statement, that didn't otherwise need to be. I can give a shit about who got credited. What I do give a shit about is how much harder I will have to explain away the MSM spin that has been put on his statements as I knock on doors this week in PA. I live in NY and an volunteering for the 1st time in my 45 years because I believe in the capacity of this candidate. If Mayhill is as smart as she thinks she is, she never would have said a word. I live near the PA border and my community is experiencing the same economic downturn. And I am just as bitter as the PA voters Barack talks about. posted 04/14/2008 at 22:35:41

American Idol "Shout to the Lord" Controversy and Results

Does anyone still think that actual voting makes a difference on this show? Given the Clay/Ruben farce as well as the Daugherty shocker, its hard to believe that it is anyone but FOX execs calling the shots. Especially towards the end. I can't wait for the movie 20 years from now exposing the deception, akin (no pun intended) to the quiz show scandal involving Charles VanDorn. posted 04/11/2008 at 22:20:37

NO, Its not at all about dissing Columbia. The agreement does not benefit either country's peoples. It only makes it easier for corporations in this country to exploit the people and resources of Columbia, as well as move economy sustaining jobs from this one. posted 04/09/2008 at 23:36:02

The Promise and Possibilities of Satellite Television

I have had satellite TV for almost 10 years. 1st it was in protest of our limited cable provider and then necessity when we moved to an area with out cable. Now that we have a cable option, I continue to subscribe to satellite because of the stations it provides like LINK TV and FSTV that aren't even an consideration of cable companies. I have learned so much of the world and our own country in the last 10 years through these venues and others like the university channels provided, I can't imagine life without them. You know about stories YEARS in advance of the MSM. It has been beneficial in conversations to know the stories inside and out before they hit. I only wish everyone could have access to and actively watch these channels. If America did, they wouldn't be so easily swayed by the harmful and divisive rhetoric that is spewed daily by the for profit media that dominates our air waves. posted 04/05/2008 at 22:25:00
