Bio
I am a plaintiff's attorney who litigates and tries cases for injured consumers. I also am active in various environmental and human rights organizations.
The battle used to be in the courtroom, then in the legislature. The battle now is in appointing and electing judges who will assist in overseeing that the law is administered in accordance with our constitution. I have a special interest in foreign policy because hegemonic empires almost automatically elicit universal resistance. We must now pull back from the edge, let alone reverse course, both militarily and environmentally. This will require a grace and flexibility and imagination that will allow those who object to the expansion of the American Empire their voice to state their objections to the violence and articulate how it affects them so that they have a role in pro-actively shaping their own future.
In this process, the reaffirmation of universal human rights, self-determination, and sustainable policies are required. Domestically, we must preserve our tradition of checks and balances and reform the corporatism that is leading our country to the brink of fascism. Internationally we must re-adhere to international law rather than to act preemptively and unilaterally, relying primarily on military might and valuing money as our highest principle
