Senator Harkin: McCain Too "Military"

Harkin is absolutely right. McCain is one dimensional and will be exposed during the campaign.

Just consider all that has been revealed in one news cycle. Add that to the fact he has to cater to the neo cons, suck up to the evangelicals, separate from "Numb Nuts" and try to attract independents

He is on record as not understanding the economy. The world has changed and Johnny cannot adapt. He is done along with his party. posted 05/17/2008 at 15:39:26

GOP Southerners Fear Obama Wave

Good post. I think he believes he discovered racism. Poor guy. posted 05/17/2008 at 14:47:54
Son, your shallow rants do little to advance the cause. Besides, you really could use some history lessons.

This just in: RACISM EXISTS. Some call it tribalism. It is real. It has been with us and will remain with us.

What we are here doing ,without denying its very REAL existence, is working though it to minimize its influence on civilization.

Now without your head exploding try to grasp the concept of the Barack Hussein Obama led movement, where we move forward TOGETHER or you may snipe at the other bigots, over whom you self righteously claim superiority.

BTW, if age were the measure of ability to understand, McCain would be your guy. AGREE? posted 05/17/2008 at 14:12:49

You are right. The article makes it simple for those that need it simple. It's easy for them to frame the issues for us, so they don't have to work outside the parameters they artificially set up.

The issues are more complex than they are equipped to deal with. it's not the southern GOP with the problem - it's the GOP period.

Meanwhile, Barack takes center stage having been given it by the village idiot, Dubya.

He must take full advantage of it - I think he's ready to do just that. posted 05/17/2008 at 12:59:38

It's not just the southern GOP - it's the GOP period that FEAR Barack's movement. The GOP is on life support. They got fat and happy and while they counted their money no one sensed what was happening to the people. (or cared)

They always figured they could throw in a wedge issue or two and we would be too busy to notice our worsening conditions. NOT THIS TIME!

In typical GOP fashion they are using the south hoping to divert from the larger national picture. Things are bad for them everywhere. Recent developments in the south is a precursor for the carnage to come. Just like rich folk get police and soldiers to do their dirty work, they want the southerners to take Barack down using a racial divisive strategy.

That way they look clean. In 2 years nobody will even admit to being Republican. It;s over and not just in the South.

They want low turnout because the more who vote, the less value their vote counts. We all know that they know what's right for America, so they don't want their vote diluted. So expect more vote suppression using ID cards, voter machine issues, caging and other dirty tricks.

They would really like to go back to when only white men had the right. posted 05/17/2008 at 00:45:04

Obama Responds To Bush, McCain Appeasement Attack

That is a very irresponsible thing to say. It almost sounds as if you want that to happen to prove some perverted point.

McCain ain't allowing nothing. Even if he beats Barack, an attack couldn't be placed at his feet. If Barack wins, an attack would not be his fault either.

In a funny way, you're repeating the Republican talking point that we are now safer because we haven't been attacked since 9/11.

GOP Rep. Uses Term 'Tar Baby' In Memo About Obama, Election

Tar and feathering was a vigilante form of humiliating and ostracizing publicly in colonial America. A quick look at history might reveal that most Americans of African descent were slaves.

They were property used to perform manual labor which required them at close to full strength for maximum productivity. Such damage to one's property would be counter productive. All accounts are that use of the whip was the preferred disciplinary means.

I am not saying it never happened, but I am saying that tar and feathering has no racial link as far as I know. posted 05/15/2008 at 08:05:50
