None of my pro-Hillary female friends are falling for this obvious GOP pander. To the contrary, McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his VP is drawing hoots of derision.
Once they learn that Sarah Palin opposes rape and incest exceptions for women seeking abortion, they completely write her off.
One female friend said: "Sarah Palin is to the movement for women's equality what Clarence Thomas is to civil rights. She's an extremist and an enemy to the cause that has been fought on her behalf.... Someone should stand up and say: 'I know Senator Clinton. Senator Clinton is a friend of mine. And Sarah Palin is no Hillary Rodham Clinton.'"
One female friend did some quick internet research and said, "Sarah Palin has a great deal of surface appeal, at first. But once America's women look behind that cheerleader smile and see at her extreme social agenda, they will run the other direction."
Another said, "McCain picked a fan, not an equal partner. She has no international experience. She was just fawning all over him. No independence. Given McCain's temper, Sarah Palin probably won't challenge John McCain on any substantive issues."
Then she added, with a laugh, "The only thing he is going to let her do in the White House is teach him how to use the internet."
Another said, "It just seems desperate and calculated."
She added, "Palin makes McCain look ancient, out-of-touch and totally yesterday. McCain makes her look like a perky kid. Each one dramatically and perfectly underscores the other's weakness. At least, nobody can criticize Obama's alleged youth and inexperience now. But this is not the best team America could produce, by any stretch."
John McCain has gone from maverick to "me too" -- trying to out-Democrat the Democrats and pick up some Hillary voters.
But it ain't working.

Palin is a gimmick and she is no Hillary Clinton. I am so tired of Republican tatics that play to the lowest common mind set in this country.
John McCain is four more years of BUSH
John McCain is a WAR MONGER
John McCain chose Sarah Palin an inexperienced governor of Alaska. (Sarah Palin is NO HILLARY CLINTON)
JOHN MCCAIN/SARAH PALIN (BAD FOR AMERICA)
BARACK OBAMA AND JOE BIDEN (CHANGE AND EXPERIENCE)
OBAMA/BIDEN 08
I agree with watereddown...McCain is not trying to capture the woman vote. He is trying to energize the religious base that has not been happy with his views or personal issues! The fact that she is female only adds to his laughable "We can make history too" delusion this party is trying pass on the country. This is the demographic that should be of concern to the Democrats. This VP choice has everything to do with the Rovian successful election of Bush. They are going to use the same model for McCain, while balancing his "maverick" history. I am amazed but definitey surprised, that they are starting to package Palin as a maverick and a reformer. She could not be more far right if she tried, definitely not maverick. When you have Pat Buchanan gushing about her, (although he called her the Republican Princess, and had to be reminded that women are no longer referred to as "Gals") you know the red flags are flying.... The Dems need to harness their chi LOL and start bringing her history, experience and agenda to light before the Repubs continue packaging a new "You could have a beer with him or her" or a mooseburger....candidate. They started with this choice long before the announcement...we were McPunked..and they got a head start. The Dems have a lot to work with, this election is Obama's to win. So get going!!
besides the obvious weaknesses of sarah palin and differences from hillary clinton - one of the worst things that could happen would be - that this woman now has a pretty good chance of becoming the first woman president - if the republicans win in the fall - after how hard hillary has worked - this would be a slap in the face.
Worst than a slap in the face will be the incompetence that will manage our government. The consequences will impact all aspects of our lives.
This is what happens when you choose a running mate after meeting only once. And THIS SHOWS GOOD JUDGEMENT??? Pu-leez. I go through more research and spend more time choosing shoes or a purse! It is obvious this man is too old to make sound decisions to run this country and this woman is even clueless as to what a vice president does. I was a bid leery of Obama, but this duo absolutely terrifies me. After the last 8 disastrous years, this country simply cannot bear any lack of leadership or judgement. And that's all McCain/Palin offer.
Biden's going to tear her up.
Biden may rip her up but your fellow Americans who have the attention span of 30 sec. or less may vote for her out of sympathy

WHY DOES SARAH PALIN WANT TO SEND OUR OIL TO CANADA IF SHE CARES SO MUCH ABOUT THE LOWER 48, OR DOES SHE ONLY CARE ABOUT THE OIL REVENUE FOR ALASKA?
Alaskan State Senate President Lyda Green, a Republican, remarked, "She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?”
Legislators express dismay over comment gas pipeline depends on oil firm.
SARAH PALIN :A token gift to the oil industry, is what it is. Palin works for the interests of Exxon, BP and ConocoP.In the North Slope of Alaska are massive gas reserves - with one small problem - the little piggies are too far away from the market to ever get there profitably, natural gas being more difficult to transport than crude oil. Exxon, BP and ConocoPhilips all own gas reserves up there.
Meanwhile, in Alberta Canada there are huge oil sand reserves, which are incredibly polluting as well as needing a whole lot of natural gas and water to process - adding up to huge CO2 emissions, more than any other energy source per BTU. In between is Sarah Palin, who has been championing the construction of a pipeline (with a $500 million government subsidy) to connect the two. Her husband works at BP, which will be a major beneficiary of the project - in fact, one could say that much of BP's $5 billion tar sand investment depends on that pipeline being
Thank God Palin is no Hillary
Hillary should never have backed up Barack.
If anything McCain's reckless selection is a sign of how little he understands what women have been advocating for.
In his simple mind, he thinks merely having any woman as his running mate will automatically guarantee him the female vote.
Juts what we need, a gamling addict as president, and a power-junkie as his side-kick
"You're no Hillary Clinton"
So true.
1. Actual governing experience in a state she grew up in
2. Not sucking off a government salary for the last 25 years
3. Not in a sham sexless, marriage to a serial philanderer and trying to gain from it
4. Not not at all hard on the eyes (or ears)
We may be looking at the face of the GOP for the next 16 years. Scary to some...downright awesome to others.
Palin is no Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton is no JFK, yet the democrats promoted him as such.
Bill Clinton has the advantage of being compared to George W. Bush.
With the yardstick in use being that dwarfish, I daresay you Republicans should be glad that the Democrats are not comparing Bill Clinton to Hercules or "The Green Lantern".
Hey folks, check out this site...Palins alleged "business owner" experience comes from a company she filed license for and it was for just ONE year. The name of the business was Rouge Cou Co, which is french for Red Neck (co). It was a political consulting firm allegedly

Save it before the state scubs this site as well.
I caucaused for Hillary and SHE SP DOES NOT HAVE MY VOTE or speak my language, any true blue dem will not VOTE for her, I want woman to have RIGHTS, I want progress, she is not progress
Palin is about to be schooled by Biden..She has no concept that her own party are using her as bait...Darn shame and she is going to look like a doe in front of a moving train...
This whole Palin thing will go down in the annals of feminism as its most embarrassing and darkeest hour if the barbs keep up.
The righties over the years did not even do to Clinton what has been done to this woman in just two days.
It just shows a lack of total morality, ethics, shame, and class.
