1. I found lyrics to describe today's Middle East. "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty together again."

2. When I was a kid there were twelve newspapers published in New York City. Prediction: By 2020 there will be none.

3. Yes, Hillary is running...as far as she can from Obama.

4. Hamburgers don't taste as good as they used to.

5. I still love Shirley Temple's early films. When I met her frequently in Washington she told me she barely remembers those days.

6. Considering all the problems going on in America and the world, why is the NY Times so bugged on hyping marijuana legalization?

7. My father came to America from the East End of London when he was ten. My mother came from a town not far from Kiev when she was three.

8. My favorite places on the planet were once Acapulco and the South of France. No more.

9. Odd how two of my favorite authors, Thomas Wolfe (not today's Tom Wolfe) and John O'Hara seemed to disappear from the public arena.

10. I keep wondering what new ideas Hillary Clinton would bring to the table as a potential President.

11. Today's celebrities seem boring and empty-headed.

12. Why do they still call drug stores "drug stores?" In most so-called drug stores, drugs are incidental.

Warren Adler is best known for The War of the Roses, his masterpiece fictionalization of a macabre divorce turned into the Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated dark comedy hit starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito. Adler's international hit stage adaptation of the novel will premiere on Broadway in 2015-2016. Adler has also optioned and sold film rights for a number of his works including Random Hearts (starring Harrison Ford and Kristen Scott Thomas) and The Sunset Gang (produced by Linda Lavin for PBS' American Playhouse series starring Jerry Stiller, Uta Hagen, Harold Gould and Doris Roberts). In recent development are the Broadway Production of The War of the Roses, to be produced by Jay and Cindy Gutterman, The War of the Roses - The Children (Grey Eagle Films and Permut Presentations), a feature film adaptation of the sequel to Adler's iconic divorce story, Target Churchill (Grey Eagle Films and Solution Entertainment), Residue (Grey Eagle Films), and Capitol Crimes (Grey Eagle Films and Sennet Entertainment), a television series based on his Fiona Fitzgerald mystery series. Adler's forthcoming thriller, Treadmill, is slated to be released in September.
