We don't need another Deep Throat to help the American public learn of the various plottings of a secretive White House to circumvent the Constitution. We can depend upon an active, industrious press -- in the United Kingdom. The Sunday Times of London (yes, the one owned by Rupert Murdoch) reported this week that "RAF and US aircraft doubled the rate at which they were dropping bombs on Iraq in 2002 in an attempt to provoke Saddam Hussein into giving the allies an excuse for war."

Since then, this startling revelation has been reported in the US by, well, anybody? Not in the MSM. Not as of Wednesday evening, more than three days after the Times broke the story.

Well, at least a few more US newspapers are catching up on the Downing Street memo that the Times printed a month ago.
