With the release of the highly anticipated PokemonGo mobile gaming app, in just a matter of hours it became all the rage with fans young and old. Within just a couple days of its launch the game completely took over the country. You can't walk down the street without seeing someone trying to "catch them all!"

Whether or not you're playing PokemonGo, or are even really a fan of the show, you know Pikachu is one of, if not, the most popular and most desired character. He is the poster boy for the show, and in the mobile game, he's also one of the most difficult to catch. It seems like PokemonGo players' sole purpose for downloading the game is to find and catch the coveted Pikachu!

However, a completely shocking and utterly devastating revelation has been made about Pikachu that could send shockwaves among the Pokemon and PokemonGo communities. This new information could quite possibly have people changing their entire outlook on PokemonGo and cause them to reevaluate their strategy for "winning" the game itself.

The breaking news: According to polling app Wishbone, fans have voted that Pikachu is no longer number one in their hearts.

Unfathomable.

Wishbone app polled over 100,000 voters ages 12-25 across the United States and put Pikachu up against 10 top contending Pokemon to see who was the most endearing.

The results are shocking. Just see for yourself.

There's no denying Pikachu's appeal. It's the ultimate sidekick with lightning powers and outcries of "Pika Pika!" that brings down its opponents. But Clefairy is just as loved for its adorable appearance and is considered a rare find in the Pokemon world. In a battle of cuteness: who will come out the winner?

The Results:

It seems Clefairy's lack of great power had voters staying true to Pikachu. Only the truly great Pokemon can win against Pikachu!
Chansey is another favorite in the Pokemon world for its kindness and rarity. Chansey is known for bringing good luck and happiness and sharing the eggs it lays to injured people and Pokemon. How can you say no to something that's both adorable and kind?

The Results:

Clearly Chansey's loving nature isn't fully reciprocated. Pikachu is also a kind and loyal creature but also great to have during times of battle. Chansey. on the other hand, wouldn't be up for the challenge.
A water based Pokemon, Horsea is handy in fights by spraying water or dense black ink from its mouth at its attacker. A handy Pokemon to have in your corner, however, can it beat fans loyalty to Pikachu?

The Results:

Horsea gave it a good fight but Pikachu still has the upper hand!
Charmander is about as well known as Pikachu as it was a popular character on the classic Pokemon TV series. Charmander is loved for its cute features and powerful fire powers. Especially as it can evolve into the fierce Charzard which would be great in battles. Maybe Charmander can finally beat Pikachu's winning streak...

The Results:

Not even Charmander's ever-burning tail could bring a stop to Pikachu's climb to the top!

6. Poliwag vs. Pikachu?

Poliwag is an adorable yet funny-looking tadpole that can brink its Poke Trainer to victory while battling in water. What it lacks in arms it makes up for in spunk which might be the formula to beating Pikachu.

The Results:

Pikachu can battle it out on any terrain while Poliwag is pretty useless on land. Sorry, little guy, but voters were Team Pikachu!
Another well-known character for being in the main squad on the TV series, Squirtle packs a powerful punch with his water powers. He's a stubborn little guy that can spray his opponents with water until he reaches victory. Will he rise up to the challenge against Pikachu?

The Results:

Whoa. Squirtle is closer to victory than Pikachu's other challengers but still no where near beating the Pokemon legend!
An evolution of Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff is a cute Pokemon that can bounce and float away to its heart's content. It's said to have fur so soft that those who touch it will never want to stop. Is Wigglytuff really that irresistible?

The Results:

Alas, another victory for Pikachu. Wigglytuff is all kinds of cute but not the most resourceful.
Vulpix is almost too cute to handle with its fox-like features and extravagant tail. As a fire Pokemon, Vulpix can prove to be a great resource in battle and looks good doing it. Can its charms beat the lure of Pikachu?

The Results:

Finally, Pikachu is beat! It was a close call but Vulpix is a strong Pokemon that people want in their PokeDeck!

The cute little furball JigglyPuff comes across as a Pokemon that might not have a lot of fight in it. But don't be distracted by its kind eyes, it can sing you to sleep and beat even the fiercest Pokemon! How will it fair against Pikachu?

The Results:

Another loss for Pikachu! You can't help but love Jigglypuff, especially when it brings out the microphone and lulls everyone to sleep. Never judge a Pokemon by its cuteness!

Eevee looks like an adorable puppy and fox hybrid that'd make for a great addition in a PokeDeck. It may not be the most powerful in this form, but can evolve into various different Pokemon and become very useful. At the end of the day, can those big ears win over voters?

The Results:

Eevee is a hit! Voters are lovin' this Pokemon to the point that Pikachu can't even compete!
While most can't burn out the lightning that is Pikachu, three Pokemon had voters going against the icon. Eevee, Jigglypuff, and Vulpix all are the right level of both cute and fierce that Pikachu can't win against. So if you're hooked to Pokemon Go like most of the world, keep an eye out for these fan favorites!
