The United States Presidential Election is scheduled to take place on November 8th, 2016. This is perhaps the most controversial election in American history, with voters having to make a choice between a man who resembles day old macaroni and cheese, and a your weird aunt who won't stop wearing pantsuits.

We're encouraging as many people as possible to speak up about the upcoming election. We need people to vote and we need informed opinions out there to educate others. This next month will decide the next four years of the most powerful country in the world. We can empower a generation of voters to make a difference with their votes or, you know, we can sit back and watch the world burn.

We want to eliminate the negative idea that both candidates corrupt and unreasonable choices to lead the country. Both candidates have plans for the country (some of which are clear, some of which are not) and it is our job to ensure people make the choice that they believe is right in November.

If you have strong feelings about the upcoming election this is your chance to be heard and help people make an informed decision. For the next month Outspeak will be collecting videos surrounding the election and we want to hear from you. Some of the issues you could focus on include:

  • Reactions and commentary on the upcoming Vice Presidential and Presidential debates (You can find dates here).
  • Perspectives on the election news as it develops daily.
  • Eliminating the idea that both candidates are equally broken.
  • What the biggest issue in the upcoming election is for you or your community.
  • What your community, culture, or other subcultural group thinks of the election.
  • Why a particular candidate is your choice for the next president of the United States.
  • How to vote and why voting matters.

If you currently have a video, or are interested in creating one surrounding the election send it to us via Facebook or Twitter. Or email your submissions to social@outspeak.tv.

Video reactions to the debates or breaking election news must be received within 24 hours of the event happening in order to be considered for the campaign.
