For each of our four seasons, there's one item which reigns supreme in every New Yorker's closet. Denim is a strong guess, but jackets are the right one. From light weight bombers for a cool summer's night to bulky parkas for a cold winters day, owning a minimum of four is a must for the style (and health) conscious Manhattanite.

And yet, finding a piece that offers fashion and function at a friendly price can be as illusive as a cab in rush hour traffic. Thus, historically the struggle has been between aspiring for a multi-thousand dollar cinched-waist couture piece or settling for a thirty dollar Forever 21 knockoff -- sorry, tribute. Predictably, Forever 21 always won. Until now. Nonoo Lyons, a chic label launched by friends Misha Nonoo and Deborah Lyons, offers whats been missing: stylish, sexy, reasonably priced outerwear for all seasons.

Bahrain born Misha Nonoo and London raised Deborah Lyons struck up a friendship in New York, and over drinks at the Bowery Hotel last fall dreamed up a line that offered jackets exclusively. Over the next few months the duo worked tirelessly to source luxurious fabrics, hire seasoned pattern makers, and set up shop in the heart of Brooklyn where their hand crafted coats are created. The result is their debut collection, creating much buzz, of eight tailored pieces inspired by literary heroines (hence the quotations in the photos).

From Intermix to American Vogue, retailers and reporters alike are enthralled with the label, which provides structured silhouettes, vibrant colors and luxurious details. Those of you lucky enough to be in New York during Fashion Week this week can get a first hand look at Nonoo Lyons. The label's first ever pop-up store will debut in Soho at 51 Wooster Street and will remain open from September 10th to September 19th, seven days a week from 11am - 6pm.
