Scot Peterson said his decision to remain outside during the Feb. 14 massacre was based on his training as a Broward County sheriff's deputy.
"As a result of Sheriff Israel's failures, students and teachers died," the 74 state lawmakers wrote in a letter to Gov. Rick Scott (R).
H.R. 620 would make it even harder for disabled people to work, go to school and live their lives.
Saying that "just because we’re young we can’t make a difference is not right," one student said.
