The U.S. attorney general faced Republican accusations that the Justice Department has gone easy on the president's son.

Jack Smith "assembled a group of experienced and talented prosecutors and agents who share his commitment to integrity," the attorney general said.
“We request a meeting at your earliest convenience to discuss the ongoing injustice that is being perpetrated," the letter to the attorney general says.
