"Monk" Actor Stanley Kamel Found Dead

"AccessHollywood" has learned that Stanley Kamel, well known for playing Dr. Charles Kroger on the hit USA series "Monk," has died. For more on this story log on to AccessHollywood.com.

Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood home on Tuesday. He was 65.

The cause of death was unknown.

In a statement released to "Access Hollywood," USA Network said, "USA is deeply saddened by the news of Stanley Kamel's passing. Stanley was an amazingly talented and extremely kind man, and an important member of the USA family. He will be sorely missed."

Kamel's reps said in a statement, "Actor Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday, April 8 by his long time agents and friends, Donna Massetti and Marilyn Szatmary. Cause of death at this time is unknown...He is survived by his brothers Dr. Stephen Kamel and Robert Kamel, 5 nieces and nephews, and 6 grand nieces and nephews."

Kamel has appeared in numerous TV roles over the past three decades, including "The West Wing," "Six Feet Under," "Melrose Place," "The Golden Girls," "Days of Our Lives" and "Murder One."

Pop culture fans will remember Kamel from his eight-episode arc in 1995 on "Beverly Hills 90210," as Tony Marchette, the father of Rebecca Gayheart's character.
