Lake Shore Drive Resurfacing Begins, Lanes Closed

A resurfacing project on the northern end of Lake Shore Drive will put half of its eight lanes out of commission for most of the day until the end of the year.

Starting Monday night, the city will shut down two lanes in each direction of Lake Shore Drive between Irving Park Road and Foster Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Southbound ramps accessing Lake Shore Drive at Irving Park Road and at Montrose, Wilson and Foster avenues will also be intermittently closed from 10 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning.

All four lanes of Lake Shore Drive will be open during morning and evening rush periods.
