Chicago ranked fifth among American cities for sales of new hybrid cars, according to a survey by Hybridcars.com and reported in the Sun-Times.
Chicago had 4,862 new hybrid car registrations, the paper reported, putting it behind Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C.
Illinois also ranks fifth in hybrid sales by state, coming after California, New York, Florida and Texas.
