Wrigley Rooftop Bud Sign Stays: Judge

A Cook County judge this afternoon ordered the removal of the brown tarp that is covering the Budweiser billboard on a rooftop behind Wrigley Field's bleachers.

Cook County Judge Martin S. Agran granted Anheuser-Busch's demand for a temporary restraining order preventing the building's new owner from continuing to block the billboard, which is the subject of bitter contract dispute.

"With any luck, I'll see the sign when the White Sox play the Cubs in the World Series," said Agran, a Sox fan who said he hasn't been to Wrigley since the Bears stopped playing there decades ago.

The building's new owner, Tom Gramatis, had the tarp put up Wednesday night, saying Anheuser-Busch was late with its quarterly payment and therefore the lease was void.
