Chicago Losing Pro Golf Tournament

Chicago Losing Pro Golf Tournament

Chicago is taking another blow on the golf front. The local Nationwide Tour event at the Glen Club in Glenview is no more.

Bank of America, the sponsor of last year's event, opted out of its commitment for 2009. When a new sponsor couldn't be located, it took Chicago off the 2009 Nationwide Tour schedule that comes out today.

That means of the four major professional tours in the United States (PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour), Chicago only has one regular event: the BMW Championship on the PGA Tour at Cog Hill. We have the best golf town in America, and to go one for four is absolutely ridiculous.
