ACLU Asks Boulder Police To Change Stun Gun Policy After Tasing Of Impaired Man

BOULDER, Colo. -- The local American Civil Liberties Union chapter is asking Boulder police to change their Taser stun-gun policy after witnesses saw "unnecessary and excessive use of force on a mentally impaired and unarmed man" last week.

"Boulder Police Department policy should be changed to restrict Taser use to a much higher level on the continuum of force," chapter Chairman Judd Golden wrote in a letter to Police Chief Mark Beckner on Thursday.
