Ronald Tackman Escapes: Career Criminal On The Run After Fleeing Court House

Alleged robber Ronald Tackman escaped from the Manhattan Criminal Court Building this morning by pretending to be a well-dressed lawyer.

The stylish career criminal donned a three-piece suit and looked so dapper that a court officer assumed he was an attorney, even asking, "Counselor, what are you doing here?"

The courthouse was locked down for an hour until authorities saw surveillance footage of Tackman leaving the building.

Tackman is legendary for his past escape attempts, including an incident in which he took over a prison van with a realistic-looking gun carved out of soap.

The New York Daily News reports:

Tackman made the guards stop the van and throw out their guns. Then he forced them to get in the back, where he locked them up with the other prisoners.

In another escape attempt, the 55-year-old tried to shoot his way out of a prison van using a rubber-band powered zip gun.

Tackman is awaiting trial for a string of robberies.
