Lobbyist Allegedly Involved With Mike Duvall Speaks Out

The lobbyist at the center of former California Assemblyman Mike Duvall's alleged sexual exploits is speaking out for the first time, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Sempra Energy lobbyist Heidi Barsuglia released a statement in response to news that the California Justice Department would not file charges related to her conduct with the former politician.

Duvall, a purported family-values conservative, was overheard boasting about his sexual trysts with Barsuglia and another woman into an open microphone at the California Assembly Appropriations Committee. Duvall later resigned, but the state's attorney general announced he would not be investigated for his actions.

Barsuglia, for her part, is now denying sexual involvement with Duvall. Sempra Energy released a statement saying that it concluded its own investigation into the matter and Barsuglia will return to work.

From Barsuglia:

In case you forgot, here's a more G-rated excerpt from Duvall's self-confessed escapades, as told to an Assembly colleague.

"And so her birthday was money. I was 54 on June 14, so for a month she was 19 years younger than me. I said 'Now you're getting old. I"m going to have to trade you in. And she goes 'I"m 36." She's 18 years younger than me. And so I keep teasing her, and she goes 'I know you French men. You divide your age by two and add seven, and if you're older than that you dump us."
