Rebecca Davey 'Smoking Baby' Facebook Picture Sparks Police Inquiry

A teenage mother who posted a photograph of her baby 'smoking' a cigarette on Facebook has been investigated by police.

Rebecca Davey, 18, was reported to the police by online friends who saw her picture showing her young baby boy, 'Ollie,' with an unlit cigarette in his mouth.

The photo has since been removed from Facebook, although the Daily Mail claims to have obtained a copy of the photo, which it has posted on its website.

After sharing the controversial photograph of her son, Davey posted the following update to Facebook:

Some w***** reported me to the police abwt picture off ollie.

Davey's friends came to her defense, with posts such as,

Some ppl r nosey f****** aint they!! dw [don't worry] ur a good mum they wont hassle u 4 long!!!

Police and social services visited Davey's home in Southend, Essex, and report they found "no immediate concerns."

According to the BBC, the head of specialist children's services said of the inquiry,

Police officers visited the family home on Saturday and, although no evidence of criminal wrongdoing emerged, words of advice were given to the parent.

Davey later wrote on Facebook,
